Raymond Taylor, Clanton Obituary,69yrs Man identified after being found dead in Chilton County house fire
The victim of a fatal house fire in Chilton County has been identified as Raymond Taylor, 69, of Clanton. The tragic incident occurred Friday night on the 5000 block of County Road 76, shortly after 8 p.m., according to the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Responders, including volunteer fire departments, law enforcement, and emergency medical personnel, quickly arrived at the scene to combat the blaze. Firefighters faced a challenging situation as the house was engulfed in flames. South Chilton Fire Chief Jordan Davis arrived early and entered the burning home after learning that three individuals were trapped inside.
One person managed to escape unharmed, while two others were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed. Chief Davis noted that he was able to rescue one man who was sitting up in the yard and talking, indicating some level of consciousness despite the fire.
Sheriff John Shearon expressed his condolences and urged the community to keep the victims and their families in their thoughts. “This is a heartbreaking tragedy for everyone involved,” he said.
The fire was contained to only two rooms in the house, thanks to the aggressive efforts of the fire crews. The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office, is investigating the cause of the fire.
